Baltimore, Maryland
I visited Baltimore twice in 2024, once in March by myself as part of a work trip, and once in December of 2024 with my kids on a family trip. I didn’t have a ton of time either time, but heard that the Inner Harbor was a great place, so that’s where we spent most of the time. The Inner Harbor had a ton of entertaining stuff, including historic ships, paddle boats, an ice rink, and the National Aquarium.

Along with checking out the Inner Harbor I visited Fort McHenry with the kids. I thought since we were on the East Coast it would be prudent to make sure the kids got to see some of the historic sites important to the Nation’s founding. When we were in Washington D.C. we visited a bunch of the Smithsonian Museums, but also went to the National Archives to see the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, so when we were in Maryland I thought it would be important to visit Fort McHenry. Fort McHenry is the Fort Francis Scott Key was watching as it was bombed by the British during the war of 1812, and wrote the Star Spangled Banner about the experience, and the pride he felt when the Americans were able to withstand the attack.
The last set of pictures are from the National Aquarium. I had been told it was a great aquarium, and it was pretty amazing. I think my favorite parts were the Blacktip reef, jellies invasion, and shark alley, but the birds and sloths at the tropical exhibit were really cool too.
